Find your Beach is an inciteful journey of self-reflection using shells as an analogy for difference.
A beach with shells all exactly the same would be a very uninteresting beach. This is a story about finding what it is about you that makes you- YOU and unique. Your collection around you, like shells, should appreciate your difference and every shell brings something different to the collection.
"Your job is to work out what is special about you and what you can offer others."
Find Your Beach
Christine Burchall is currently living in far north Queensland with her husband and two boys after moving from Bairnsdale last year. Her background is early childhood and primary education, 7 years teaching at Lucknow Primary School and currently teaching in primary schools around the Douglas Shire.
Christine feels blessed to have spent her childhood holidays and into adulthood at their family’s beach side shack where all the photos were taken and the spark for Find Your Beach was originally felt.
Find Your Beach is a children's book to be read and enjoyed with families and educators. It uses shells as an analogy to explain self-acceptance to children and further their understanding of themselves. It highlights the importance to surround themselves (like shells on a beach) with people who celebrate this uniqueness about them. Her passion for health and respectful relationships with oneself and others grew as she often was saddened by children (at times adults) who struggle with who they are and how they feel.
The author wishes that all people who read the book take something from it to better understand themselves and the uniqueness of others.
Find Your Beach is a positive and pleasant journey of self-reflection through thought provoking insights and questions that sees the reader digging deep into their inner being.“Your job is to figure out what makes you, YOU!”
